On November 27th the ‘The New Write Nights’ begins and opening the week are Divadlo Theatre with their piece Mad for Madeline.
Madeline is losing her patience, her cash and her looks. Life’s daily routines are gradually wearing her down. She wants to be tempted, to be desired; she wants to be a winner, in this game of love. Will Madeline tempt fate by peering into the future and meet her true love? Will she get the chance and at what cost?
The play explores themes of love, laughter and tears, which are added to the rich and sensual imagery of Keats’ poem The Eve of St. Agnes, which the piece is inspired by.
Madeline’s story is brought to life by an eclectic mixed-media theatre piece, which explores the rituals of old and new and begs the question; can a relationship that was consummated in a dream, become reality?
Tickets for Mad for Madeline are available from The Place. The performance is on November 27th at 7.30pm
